Every employee shall at all times

  • Maintain absolute integrity, decorum of conduct, devotion and commitment to duty
  • Carry out orders and act according to instructions of superiors regarding official duties
  • Not do anything unbecoming of a staff member of the University
  • Not commit any act prejudicial to the interest of the University

Disciplinary Rules

The following acts are treated as minor misconduct:

  • Negligence or failure to perform assigned duties
  • Unauthorized absence
  • Habitual late / irregular attendance

The following acts are treated as major misconduct and attract strict disciplinary action

  • Furnishing false information about age, qualifications, marks, or previous employment at joining.
  • Taking or giving bribes.
  • Dishonesty, theft, fraud, or damage to University property or documents.
  • Drunken, riotous, indecent, or disorderly behaviour.
  • Gambling within University premises.
  • Wilful insubordination or disobedience.
  • Refusal to accept official communications or charge sheets.
  • Acts amounting to a criminal offence or involving moral turpitude.
  • Unauthorized sharing of official University documents or information.
  • Lending or borrowing money, or accepting expensive gifts from parties dealing with the University.
  • Conviction by a court of law.
  • Sexual harassment.
  • Threatening or intimidating employees.
  • Possession of illegal or unauthorized weapons or firearms.
  • Engaging in outside business that conflicts with University work.
  • Holding unauthorized meetings, engaging in political or union activities, or collecting funds during working hours.
  • Participating in illegal strikes or slowdowns.
  • Distributing handbills or posters that affect discipline.
  • Punching attendance for another employee.
  • Spreading false information or rumours.
  • Signing attendance for both sessions at the same time.
  • Unauthorized absence exceeding 10 consecutive days.

The following acts are treated as minor misconduct:

  • For misconduct by faculty or staff, an Enquiry Committee is constituted by:
    • Vice Chancellor (for faculty cases).
    • Registrar or higher authority (for non-faculty cases).
  • Enquiry Officer(s) may be:
    • Senior University officers.
    • External persons (if required).
  • Action is taken after:
    • Submission of the enquiry report.
    • Providing a proper opportunity of hearing.
    • Approval of the competent authority.
  • An appeal may be made to the Chancellor within 30 days from the date of the action order.

The following acts are treated as minor misconduct:

  • Follow the highest ethical and professional standards.
  • Place student interest above personal gain.
  • Be neatly dressed and well-groomed.
  • Be pleasant, tactful, and considerate.
  • Be punctual and schedule-oriented.
  • Respond promptly to student queries.
  • Maintain professional email etiquette.
  • Keep internal communications confidential.
  • Avoid politics and controversial arguments.

Employees must not

  • Promise more than they can deliver.
  • Lie or misrepresent facts.
  • Act without considering the consequences.
  • Fail to submit required reports.
  • Criticize others in a non-constructive manner.
  • Engage in political or religious arguments in the workplace.
  • Sign contracts on behalf of the University without written authorization from the Chancellor or Vice-Chancellor.
  • Enter into agreements without prior approval, as such agreements are considered null and void.
