International Yoga Day is observed every year on June 21 to raise awareness about this ancient practice and to celebrate the physical and spiritual prowess that yoga has brought to the world. Yoga is a practice which plays an important role in relaxing the mind and body and boosting people’s immune system.
Today, on 21st June 2024, Kishkinda University (KU) celebrated International Yoga Day. It was attended by many prominent Professors, Directors and Students from different departments of the University with great enthusiasm.
The event began with a brief introduction on Yoga Day by Dr. Kumarswamy V, NSS Coordinator.
Dr. Chidanda, Yoga practioner, taught the Warm up exercises and all the Professors, students practiced & performed sitting and standing asana, importance of these were explained simultaneously.
The celebration concluded with the speech of our Pro-Vice Chancellor & Dean Dr.U.Eranna. He encouraged students to practice regular yoga to remain fit and improve concentration.
All Faculties, Staff and Students were taught the importance of Yoga in their life & how to maintain the harmony between body and mind. The students discussed the importance of yoga and also exhibited yoga postures and promised to introduce this activity in their daily lives.
International Yoga Day celebrations ended with a huge success under the supervision of the Extra-Curricular Activities& Clubs Coordinator, Mr. Chaitanya Reddy.
The function ended with a vote of thanks by Ms. RV Shravani, Yoga Club Coordinator.
