Overview

The Department of Chemistry at Kishkinda University offers a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programme that promotes advanced research in fundamental and applied chemical sciences with a strong emphasis on innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and sustainable development.

The programme provides scholars with rigorous training in research methodology, modern analytical techniques, and laboratory practices, enabling them to undertake original research in areas such as organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, environmental, medicinal, polymer, materials, nanotechnology, electrochemistry, and computational chemistry. Under the guidance of experienced faculty members, scholars are encouraged to publish in reputed journals, participate in national and international conferences, and develop innovative solutions to scientific, industrial, environmental, and societal challenges.

The programme prepares graduates for successful careers in academia, research institutions, government laboratories, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, and technology-driven organizations.

Eligibility

Candidates must possess a Master's degree (M.Sc. in Physics or an equivalent postgraduate degree in the relevant discipline) from a recognized university with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks or an equivalent CGPA.
Candidates must qualify the Kishkinda University Ph.D. Entrance Test (unless exempted under the applicable UGC regulations, such as eligible NET/JRF candidates) and subsequently appear for the Interview/Viva-Voce, where their research aptitude, subject knowledge, and proposed research work are evaluated.
Candidates who have successfully completed M.Phil. coursework with at least 55% marks (or the prescribed relaxation for reserved categories) or possess an equivalent qualification recognized under UGC norms are also eligible to apply.
Admission is subject to the fulfillment of the UGC Ph.D. Regulations and the availability of a recognized research supervisor and research facilities in the Department of Physics.
