Overview

The Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering is proud to be among the very few institutes in India offering this specialized and emerging programme. It is the only institute in the state of Karnataka to offer Pharmaceutical Engineering, creating significant academic and professional opportunities, particularly for students from the Hyderabad–Karnataka region. By introducing this unique programme, the department seeks to bridge the regional skill gap and provide access to advanced technical education aligned with the evolving needs of the pharmaceutical industry.

Pharmaceutical Engineering is a next-generation programme that integrates core engineering principles with pharmaceutical sciences, process technology, automation, quality systems, and regulatory compliance. Designed to address the demands of modern drug manufacturing and healthcare industries, the curriculum is entirely industry-oriented, emphasizing practical learning, industrial exposure, and real-time problem solving. Students gain expertise in pharmaceutical process engineering, formulation technology, industrial equipment design, GMP compliance, and emerging manufacturing technologies, ensuring they are industry-ready upon graduation.

Eligibility

10+2 with Physics & Mathematics + Chemistry / CS / Biology
Students who have passed BiPC, PCMB, PCB and any one from Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology & Maths with English as one of the languages of study and should have obtained a minimum of 45% marks.
For SC/ST & Other backward classes of Karnataka students only, the minimum marks is 40% in aggregate in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination like CET / Comed-K / AIEEE any other equivalent entrance examinations
